Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran sign Baku Statement

December 20, Fineko/abc.az. The fifth tripartite meeting of the heads of the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran ended in Baku.

The ministers signed a statement on the results of the tripartite meeting.

During the meeting, the ministers of the three countries discussed the statements signed on the results of previous meetings, particularly noted the strengthening of cooperation in areas that could influence economic growth and development, noted the importance of reaching solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The ministers also agreed to strengthen trade and economic cooperation, implement joint programs and projects in the use of existing potential to encourage investment and trade, including in energy, transport, banking, telecommunications, industry, agriculture, tourism and the environment. They noted the importance of increasing the transit potential, the implementation of new projects for the development of transport infrastructure, etc.

The ministers decided to hold the next trilateral meeting in Turkey.
