How much did food prices rise in Baku? - STATEMENT


December 24, Fineko/ Over Jan-Nov 2019 the trade turnover of the Azerbaijani capital increased by 3.6% (versus the relevant term of 2018) up to AZN 18.6 bn.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Baku City Statistics Department that cost of foods, beverages and tobacco products sold in the trade network increased by 3.4% (against the 2018 same term) up to AZN 8.5 bn, and the volume of non-food products grew by 4% up to AZN 10.2 bn.

28.9% of consumer goods were sold at enterprises with legal entity status, 48.2% at trade facilities owned by individual entrepreneurs, and 22.9% at the food markets of the capital.
