December 25, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has endorsed the provisions stipulated by the Law on Health Insurance in connection with contributions on compulsory health insurance.

ABC.AZ reports that the provisions will come into force from 1 April 2020.

In particular, the CHI contribution for individuals fulfilling works (services) on the basis of civil law contracts and people hiring them for works (services) will be 2% of wages of up to 8,000 manats and 1% of wages exceeding 8,000 manats.

Besides, 0.02 manats will be withheld from wages per liter of gasoline, diesel fuel and liquid gas produced on the territory of Azerbaijan and directed for domestic consumption (wholesale trade), and imported in the territory of Azerbaijan.

CHI will be applied in stages, and its introduction is expected to finish in 2020, taking into account the established sequence on administrative territorial units of the country.

As for other kind of policyholders the contribution will make 48% of the minimum wage from 1 January 2023.
