January 9, Fineko/abc.az. Insurance companies that stick to the entrances of buildings booklets with the content like "If you don’t insure apartments, you’ll be fined", simply abuse their rights.

Ekrem Hasanov said, when commenting for ABC.AZ on the currently-topical issue of compulsory insurance of apartments.

According to Hasanov, these actions of insurance companies are abuse and unhealthy competition. The expert urged people not to be afraid of such warnings from insurance companies: "According to the law, local executive authorities are the fining authority for the lack of such mandatory insurance for a citizen. For example, if the apartment is located on the territory of the Nasimi district, then only executive authorities of Nasimi district can fine a citizen who has not insured the apartment. And these bodies have fined nobody yet and have never expressed such intentions. The strangest thing is that the fining authority is silent, but some insurance company send since the end of last year notifications to the apartments of citizens, and these notifications are of anonymous nature. I'm not saying that insurance companies don’t have the right to give advertising, offers. But they can only offer, and they have no right to warn and intimidate citizens. And insurance companies are scaring people with the fact that this year the law will come into force. There is no such thing. This law is already in force. Just no one insures housing. In fact, fining from the state means that they actually agreed that there should be no voluntary insurance."
