ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by Central Bank’s chairman Elman Rustamov at a press conference on the announcement of the parameters of the interest rate corridor.

According to Rustamov, it is best to commercialize or subsidize the Mortgage & Credit Guarantee Fund itself. The CBA chair also explained what the Central Bank can do for giving mortgage loans by banks: "We must have enough resources to enable banks to carry out this activity. I think this is an important issue. In my opinion, we should focus on this matter and think about how we can turn it into a special project. And what should we do so that banks can give mortgage loans themselves? If we can solve this issue, we’ll achieve further development of the construction sector."
