Russia refuses from Turkish tomatoes

February 11, Fineko/abc.az. Some problems have appeared in the sale of Turkish tomatoes to Russia.

ABC.AZ reports that for already several days the trucks transporting tomatoes from Turkey have not been allowed to Russia.

The expiration of the quota is indicated as the reason. As a result of the obstacle to the import of tomatoes into the country of Azerbaijan’s northern neighbors, a large traffic jam has been formed from TIR trucks on the Russian-Ukrainian border with Turkey.

Official Ankara said that the quotas for the purchase of 150,000 tons of tomatoes expired this year. Although the Turkish side wants to sell an additional 50,000 tons, this appeal was not approved.
