Food demand increased – Statistics Committee statement

February 12, Fineko/abc.az. The State Statistics Committee has published the retail trade turnover for January.

ABC.AZ informs that according to SSC’s report, 44.8% of the funds spent by customers on end-use products account for foods, 6.1% for beverages and tobacco products, 17.6% for textiles, clothing and footwear, 6.0% for electrical goods and furniture, 5.4% for motor fuel, 1.3% for pharmaceutical and medical products, 0.7% for computers, telecommunications equipment and printed products, and 18.1% for other non-food products.

This January 23.6% of the value of consumer goods were sold by retail enterprises, 49.2% by individual entrepreneurs, and 27.2% at markets and fairs. In comparison with January 2019 the retail turnover increased by 28.1%, for individual entrepreneurs by 0.8%, and for markets and fairs decreased by 8.4%.
