February 13, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from this week Azerbaijan is carried out diagnostics for coronavirus in accordance with international standards.

ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made at today’s press conference by Goshgar Tahmazli, the chairman of the Food Safety Agency (AQTA).

Agency’s head noted that animals and products of animal origin are being checked for the presence of coronavirus in Azerbaijan, and so far no suspicious facts have been detected.

"Very few products from China have been imported to Azerbaijan. I think the restriction imposed on food imported from China will lead neither to shortage of foods nor to change in prices. So far, no live animals, animal products, or poultry meat have been imported en masse from China to Azerbaijan. The amount of imported products is not enough to influence the food market in Azerbaijan. The ban on their import cannot lead to any facts of food shortage in our country," he emphasized.
