New doner-sales points under creation in Azerbaijan


February 13, Fineko/ Azerbaijan is to set up doner-kebab selling facilities on sites with an area of about 7 sq m, but in accordance with all sanitary and hygienic standards.

For this purpose, Sufra LLC will be established at the Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute (AQTI).

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement was made today at a press conference by AQTA chairman Goshgar Tahmazli.

According to Tahmazli, the main role of this institution will be the implementation of pilot projects that reflect food safety standards. Agency’s head pointed out that one of those pilot projects is the creation of doner kebab selling facilities that will meet the minimum quality safety requirements: "Doner selling points will be created covering an area of about 7 sq m, but reflecting all sanitary and hygienic indicators in accordance with international standards. We’ll appeal to thousands of small and medium-sized businesses engaged in entrepreneurial activities to participate in this project. The essence of that is we’ll choose among doner sale points in different districts of Azerbaijan. Doner points will be selected by drawing lots. All these works will be carried out by the Food Safety Institute for free."
