Will be medicines for mandatory insured patients given free of charge? – Agency`s statement

February 25, Fineko/abc.az. Work on free provision of medicines to all persons with mandatory medical insurance will be conducted in the future.

ABC.AZ reports that Shukur Eyvazov, the head of the Department for Regional Centers of the State Mandatory Medical Insurance Agency, made such a statement in a live broadcast on radio Anten fm.

He noted that currently medicines are free of charge at hospitals in accordance with the state program. Drugs are bought in pharmacies only in case of outpatient treatment, the Agency's rep said.

Currently mandatory health insurance is applied in the northern districts of Azerbaijan. Since 1 April it will be applied in the western districts, and relevant measures are being taken.
