Statistics Committee`s statement: About 10,000 jobs closed in Azerbaijan

February 25, Fineko/abc.az. 9,400 jobs were closed in Azerbaijan in 2019.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 51.5% of the jobs closed for the past years accounted for the non-state sector. 39.8% of jobs were closed because of the suspension of activities of enterprises and organizations, and 60.2% because of reductions at operating enterprises and organizations. Along with the closure of 9.4 jobs, 192,000 new jobs opened in the country in 2019. 27% of the jobs were created in the private sector during the year.

55.5% of new jobs were created in Baku, 1.7% in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 42.8% in other districts of Azerbaijan, including 16.3% in Aran region, 6.9% in the Ganja-Gazakh region, 5.9% in Lankaran, 3.6% in Absheron, 3.3% in Sheki-Zagatala region, 2.4% in Gorno-Shirvan region, 2.2% in Upper Karabakh, 2.1% in Guba-Khachmaz region, and 0.1% in Kelbajar-Lachin region.
