March 17, Fineko/abc.az. Executive director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications Vusal Gasimli has commented on the current situation in the food market of Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that according to Gasimli, the food balance in Azerbaijan annually includes wheat, other grains, legumes, flour, bread and bakery products, rice, potatoes, onions, vegetables, melons, fruits and berries, meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, vegetable oils, butter, tea, etc.

Gasimli says that the analysis of food balances shows that the situation on the food market in the country is satisfactory: "The level of self-sufficiency in grain (including cereals) plants in Azerbaijan reaches 70%, and our reserves in this area in recent years amounted to 1-1.2 million tons. As a rule, the grain balance from the beginning of the year exceeds 40% of the product used for food production. The level of self-sufficiency in potatoes in 2019 was 87.8%."
