March 30, Fineko/abc.az. The draft amendments to the Law on Medical Insurance have been submitted for discussion at the plenary session of the Azerbaijani parliament.

ABC.AZ reports that during the discussions a proposal was made to extend the period of phased application of mandatory medical insurance.

In accord with the amendments this deadline will be applied in stages, subject to its completion in 2021.

According to the current legislation, mandatory health insurance should have been gradually applied to the administrative-territorial units of the country, subject to its completion in 2020, taking into account the sequence established by the relevant executive authority.
