April 16, Fineko/abc.az. The number of people infected with coronavirus in the world has reached 2.69 million.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the foreign media that according to the latest data, 133,362 people died of the virus and 508,828 people were cured.

The largest number of infected persons was registered in the U.S. - 637,196 people. The U.S. is followed by Spain (177,633), Italy (165,155), France (147,863), Germany (133,456), and the UK (98,476).

The highest death rate in the last 24 hours was recorded in the U.S. (1,819) and France (1,438).

As a whole, 27,866 in the U.S., 21,645 in Italy, 18,579 in Spain, 17,167 in France, and 12,868 in the UK died of this virus.
