April 22, Fineko/abc.az. On 21 April, US President Donald Trump clarified his previous statement about temporary halting of the immigration in the U.S.
ABC.AZ reports that the day before on his Twitter page the head of the White House said that as a reaction to the coronavirus pandemic, the immigration to the U.S. is being suspended, but it was not clear for how long the Trump administration will ban the immigration.
Speaking at a news conference, Trump said that the measures to stop immigration will be in effect for the next 60 days, after which the administration will again consider the issue. The president repeated that his administration will explore additional immigration methods “to protect the interests of the American workforce”. According to the U.S. media, more than 22 million Americans lost their jobs due to the spread of the virus.
Trump said at the briefing: "This pause in the immigration will also help preserve vital medical resources for American citizens."
