May 12, Fineko/abc.az. On the basis of a court decision from 8 May 2020 the State Security Service carried out inspection at the office and residential addresses of Culture Ministry’s officials Rafik Bayramov and Zakir Sultanov, found and seized there various records on the amount of bribes received by them, money stored in different currencies, other documents and material evidence relevant to the case.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in a statement of the State Security Service in connection with the operation at the Ministry of Culture.

The investigation also revealed reasonable suspicions of systematic appropriation by Zakir Sultanov of part of the funds allocated from the State Budget for carrying out works necessary for the preservation, restoration, reconstruction and protection of historical and cultural monuments, which are the centuries-old cultural heritage and property of the Azerbaijani people.
