May 31, Fineko/abc.az. The Main Anti-Corruption Department under the General Prosecutor’s Office reviewed the issue of illegal excavation and transportation of agricultural land plots in the territory of Arkivan-Kosakul of Masalli district.

ABC.AZ was informed on the occasion at the GPO press service. The investigative and operational activities established that acting chairman of the Arkivan Municipality of Masalli district, Anar Rajabov, intentionally violated the requirements of the Law on the Management of Municipal Lands, abusing his official powers, in 2015-2016, with the help of special equipment, facilitated the excavation of 5 hectares of agricultural land owned by the municipality, using special equipment of drilling rigs, as a result, clay-sand and gravel deposits were put out of operation, and damage to nature in the amount of AZN 644,000 was caused. In connection with this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Article 308.2 (abuse of official authority, which entailed serious consequences) of the Criminal Code.

At present, the Main Anti-Corruption Department continues the necessary investigative and operational activities.
