January 17, Fineko/abc.az. The 8th meeting of between the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan and the Joint Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan started in Baku today.
The Ministry reports that the workgroup is co-chaired by Maj-Gen Huseyn Makhmudov, the head of the International Military Cooperation Department, on behalf of Azerbaijan and Maj-Gen Muhammad Shafig, Director General Foreign Military Cooperation, Joint Staff Headquarters, on behalf of Pakistan.
During the meeting the parties will discuss the current state and prospects for development of military cooperation, regional security issues, strengthening of friendly ties between the armies of the two states, including joint events in 2018.
The workgroup’s level meeting is due to last until 18 January.
A range of important decisions were taken in the direction of strengthening social protection of the population, related to increasing wages, labor pensions, social benefits and pensions, in particular, social benefits of the low-income class.
