Hundreds of millions of people may go hungry – sad statement from UN Secretary General

July 20, Fineko/abc.az. The earth is facing the greatest stagnation since the World War II. ABC.AZ reports that such a statement was made by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

He noted that a new type of coronavirus brought humanity to its knees: “The quarantine regime created problems that people did not pay attention to. Among them are weak points in the health system, shortcomings in the social protection, structural inequality, environmental destruction, and a climate crisis that could trigger starvation of hundreds of millions of people."
