July 21, Fineko/abc.az. The problem of citizens whose deposits remained in 4 liquidated banks (Atabank, Amrahbank, AG Bank and NBC Bank) will be solved. Thus, deposits were accepted even after the ban was imposed on accepting deposits in these banks.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement was made by Central Bank’s first deputy chairman Alim Guliyev.

He noted that, although these deposits are not insured by law, work is underway to return them, due to the lack of guilt of citizens: "In all probability, a special session of the Constitutional Court is expected to be held on 28 July to consider this matter. In general, the amount of the blocked deposits of citizens is AZN 61 million."

“The Central Bank has already prepared proposals to tighten control and improve the deposit insurance mechanism, and this issue will be resolved by the end of the year,” Guliyev emphasized.

Temporary administrators of AtaBank, AGBank, NBC Bank and Amrah Bank were appointed by CBA’s decision from 27 April.
