August 4, Fineko/abc.az. In July the consumer price index in Georgia fell by 0.5% on a monthly basis.

ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in the report of the National Statistical Office of Georgia.

Annual inflation in the country made up 5.7%.

Last month the prices in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group in Georgia fell by 1.6%. Prices for fruits and grapes fell by 11.7%, for vegetables by 8.2%, and for sugar, jam, honey and confectionery by 2.7%, coffee, tea and cocoa, while for rose by 2%. And prices for clothing and footwear recorded a decrease of 4%. As for annual inflation, prices for foods and non-alcoholic beverages grew by 11.5% and for alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 9%.
