Georgia starts accepting tourists from Europe

August 5, Fineko/abc.az. Georgia has received the first foreign tourists from Germany and France.

ABC.AZ was reported at the Georgian Bureau that this was informed by Georgian Tourism Administration’s head Mariam Kvrivishvili.

She said that flights to Georgia are made from Munich and Paris: "The Paris-Tbilisi flight was carried out last day. There were 188 passengers on board, and most of them were tourists. They are not quarantined and are currently traveling in Georgia. The same rule applies to tourists from Munich in Georgia."

Minister of Economy & Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava, in turn, expressed satisfaction with the appearance of the first foreign tourists on the streets of Tbilisi.

The neighboring country closed its borders to foreign citizens on 18 March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
