About 20 tons to be harvested from almond orchards in this village

September 10, Fineko/abc.az. Harvesting of about 20 tons is expected from 23 hectares of almond orchards planted in Agalyg village of Shabran district.

ABC.AZ reports that this year's yield has doubled as a result of the growth of almond trees, as well as high-quality agricultural care.

Almond trees will yield 6-10 tons per hectare in the harvest period.

Over the last few years the largest number of almond orchards was laid on the territory of Siyazan district in the northern region.

As a result of the project on the reconstruction of Samur-Absheron irrigation system, almond trees were planted on the irrigated lands of the district on an area of 200 hectares. With the support of the Research Institute of Fruit & Tea Farming of the Ministry of Agriculture, 33 hectares were laid in Shabran and 10 hectares of almond orchards in Gusar.
