Azerbaijan under connection to transit data exchange system within improvement of customs procedures

January 30, Fineko/abc.az. The State Customs Committee (SCC) continues improving the process of registration for participants of foreign trade relations.

SCC chair Aydin Aliyev has stated that such a task set by the President to the customs authority within the measures aimed at developing the non-oil sector and expanding export potential of the country.

"In order to achieve this task, the Committee has already been working on connection to the transit data exchange system (NCTS) to allow exchange of information not only with all European countries, but also to other countries connected to this system," he emphasized.

He pointed out that already since December Azerbaijan has become an observer country in the system. Now the country must ratify two conventions, after which it will be a full member with the status of a legal entity. Work in this direction is underway.

"Connection to the NCTS system will simplify much the process of clearance during import & export operations," the SCC chair said.
