35 states received appeals on entrepreneurs operating in Azerbaijan’s occupied areas

October 7, Fineko/abc.az. The inspections in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan revealed companies engaged in illegal mining, sturgeon fishing, electricity generation, as well as illegal sales of watches and banking activities. A decision was taken to conduct tax audits in them.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Prosecutor General's Office that a total of six companies engaged in illegal business activities and received income in the amount of AZN 306.8 million were revealed, based on the results of tax audits.

As a result, the necessary investigative measures were taken to detain and extradite 12 suspects to the country.

The PGO also notes that legal instructions were sent to 35 countries regarding 166 legal entities engaged in illegal economic activities. In addition, there are grounds to suspect that a group of people located in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan since 2002 have looted items of historical, scientific and cultural value, and committed other illegal actions by conducting archaeological excavations in the Azikh cave. As a result, they were put on the international and interstate wanted list.

It is reported that legal instructions have been sent to 35 states in connection with 166 legal entities engaged in illegal economic activities.
