October 29, Fineko/abc.az. Of course, the return of large territories under control of Azerbaijan is a great potential for growth, for the development, first of all, of agriculture and tourism, because this is the Karabakh region – one of the most beautiful and fertile regions of our country.

ABC.AZ reports that President Ilham Aliyev made such a statement in an interview for Interfax.

The head of state noted that Karabakh is also very rich in natural resources -gold, zinc, and lead.

"By the way, Armenia is engaged in illegal gold mining in Kelbajar with some foreign companies. But we’ll certainly hold them all accountable through appropriate legal procedures. Therefore, the prospect of this region will be very important for the sustainable development of Azerbaijan, for solving food security issues, first of all. But we must understand that at the first stage this will involve huge financial expenses," President Aliyev said.
