December 22, Fineko/abc.az. So far, there is no evidence that the newly-discovered type of coronavirus can lead to serious complications or death.
ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made by Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director general of the World Health Organization.
"The UK has stated that the new type of virus is more easily transmitted, but so far there is no evidence that it can lead to serious diseases or fatal consequences," Ghebreyesus said.
He underlined that it is necessary to suppress the spread of all SARS-CoV-2 viruses as quickly as possible: “The more we allow them to spread, the more opportunities they have to change," WHO director general said.
