February 21, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani insurance companies gathered AZN 82.8 million of premiums for January and AZN 23 million of compensation payments.

The Financial Markets Supervision Chamber (FIMSA) informs that the country is numbering 21 insurance companies.

"Premiums on voluntary types of insurance amounted to AZN 71.9 million and compensation payments AZN 18 million. As for compulsory types of insurance the insurers collected AZN 10.9 million of premiums and paid AZN 5 million of compensations," the Chamber said.

87% of premiums accounted for voluntary insurance and 13% for compulsory insurance, while 78% of compensation payments for voluntary and 22% for compulsory insurance.
