February 26, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan attended the ceremony of respect of memory of victims of Khojaly genocide.

The ceremony is also attended by members of the government, members of Parliament, etc.

At night of 25-26 February 1992 the Armenian armed units attacked the city of Khojaly with the help of the 366th Russian motorized rifle regiment. About 2,500 Khojali residents left the city in the hope to reach Agdam region, but the Armenians brutally massacred the civilian population.

During the genocide perpetrated by the Armenians 613 civilians, including 106 women, 63 children and 70 elderly were killed, 1,275 civilians were taken prisoner, 150 people went missing, 475 people became invalids, 8 families were completely destroyed, 25 children lost both parents and 130 - one of them.
