Volumes of gas carried so far via TANAP made public

January 14, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has transported 8.38 bn cu m of gas to Turkey since the commissioning of Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP), ABC.AZ reports citing TANAP consortium CEO Saltuk Duzyol as saying this at a press conference.

Duzyol says that gas carriages to Turkey via the pipeline reached 2 bn cu m of gas in the first year of transportation (30 June 2018 – 30 June 2019) and 4 bn cu m in the second year (30 June 2019 – 30 June 2020). The indicator will be increased up to 6 bn cu m in the third year (30 June 2020 – 30 June 2021). In the following years, annual gas transportation to Turkey via this pipeline will keep on at the level of 6 bn cu m. The gas is extracted at Shah Deniz field, located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.

Thus, on 30 June 2021 this figure will reach 12 bn cu m. To date, TANAP capacity is 16 bn cu m (6 bn cu m for Turkey and 10 bn cu m for Europe). The pipeline capacity can be brought up to 31 bn cu m In the future.
