Food prices have grown in Georgia for past month

February 3, Fineko/abc.az. This January’s consumer price index in Georgia increased by 1.1% compared with December 2019, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

Last month, prices for foods and non-alcoholic beverages in the country rose by 2%, for vegetables by 6.1%, fruits and grapes by 4.4%, butter by 4.3%, milk, cheese and eggs by 4%, and fish by 1.1%. As for annual inflation, foods and oils within this group rose by 27.3%, coffee, tea and cocoa by 12.6%, fish by 10.4%, milk, cheese and eggs by 9.1%, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 8.9 %, bread by 7.5%, mineral waters, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices by 5.6%. The increase in the cost of public health services made up 8.8%.
