Directions of Institute of Food Safety’s activity outlined

February 28, Fineko/abc.az. The directions of activity of the Institute of Food Safety under the Food Security Agency have been defined.

The IFS was established in compliance with the relevant presidential decree from 13 November 2017.

The Institute will conduct scientific & practical research in the field of food security, risk assessment based on scientific principles, prepare standard & technical documents surrounding food security, and render services on study of food safety indicators.

In world practice, there are similar institutions, for example, in Europe and the United States both at the state level and independently. These institutions are of great importance in carrying out scientific research in the field of food security. According to world practice, the main objects of long-term research of such institutes are the impact of food on the human body, as well as the study of composition of packages and supplements, and study of all aspects of food security.
