Forecast on growth rate of GDP in U.S. increased

February 9, Fineko/abc.az. US investment bank Goldman Sachs has raised expectations on the country's GDP and the volume of the stimulus package in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

ABC.AZ reports that the forecast of GDP growth for the 2nd quarter was raised by 1 point up to 11% from 10%. In addition, the bank estimated additional fiscal measures at $1.5 trillion, compared with the previous estimate of $1.1 trillion.

On an annualized basis, Goldman Sachs economists raised their growth forecasts for 2021 and 2022 by 0.2 percentage points, to 6.8% and 4.5%, respectively.
