February 19, Fineko/abc.az. The negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the tourism sector continued in January of this year.

ABC.AZ was informed at the State Border Service that in January 2021 Azerbaijan was visited by 36,100 foreigners and stateless persons from 105 countries (6.3-fold less than in January 2019), and visits with a non-tourist purpose prevailed.

Over the past month, 34.1% of visitors were citizens of the Russian Federation, 28.4% - Turkey, 13.1% - Iran, 11.7% - Georgia, 2.1% - Ukraine, 1.5% - Great Britain, 1% - Belarus, 0.8% - Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, 0.7% - Kazakhstan, 0.6% - Germany, 0.5% - Italy, 0.4% - USA, 0.3% - France, 4% - citizens of other countries.
