March 9, Fineko/abc.az. The construction sector of Azerbaijan, which declined by 8.8%, 6.1% and 15.2% in 2018-2019-2020, respectively, is expected to increase by 9.1% in 2021 and by 4.4% in 2022-2025.
ABC.AZ reports that this forecast was made by London-based consulting company Global Data.
The company links the decline over the past 3 years mainly with lower oil prices and the coronavirus pandemic.
"The Azerbaijani government plans to spend $1.3 bn on projects in Karabakh this year. The Azerbaijan Motor Road Agency has announced that 2,661 km of roads will be repaired or reconstructed in the region," the company said in a statement.
