March 15, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank has published statistics on the number of payment cards, ATMs and post-terminals in February 2021.

ABC.AZ reports that the number of transactions carried out through e-commerce in the country increased by 55% up to 68.7 million ones compared with 2019, and the volume increased by 22% up to AZN 3.9 bn.

Over the reporting period there was a positive trend in indicators on the contactless payment infrastructure.

The number of contactless payment cards in circulation increased by 2.5 times (compared with 2019) up to 3.7 million cards, and the number of POS terminals accepting contactless payments increased by 13% up to 34,200 ones.

The number and volume of contactless payments exceeded the figures of 2019 by 4.3 and 5.4 times, respectively.
