State-run banks increased lending to economy

April 5, Fineko/abc.az. As of 1 March of this year the credit investments of Azerbaijani banks in the country's economy amounted to AZN 14.619 bn.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the statistics of the Central Bank that the figure is 0.2% more than on 1 February, 0.6% more versus early 2021, and 6.9% less against Jan-Feb 2020.

AZN 11.44 bn or 78.3% of credit investments were made by private banks (10.1% less year-on-year).

Over Jan-Feb 2021 the state-governed banks’ credit investments totaled AZN 2.8 bn (a rise of 9.3% year-on-year). The share of state-run banks in the lending grew from 16.3% up to 18.3%.
