April 14, Fineko/abc.az. An online conference on the topic "The role of financial institutions in the development of the digital ecosystem" has been held today.

ABC.AZ informs that at the conference Central Bank’s director general Farid Osmanov stated that the introduction of innovative technologies in the banking sector began long before the pandemic, and the widespread spread of the pandemic accelerated digitalization.

According to Osmanov, the pandemic has further strengthened people's trust in cloud technologies and artificial intelligence solutions.

"Citizens and the business environment have already started to use Internet solutions more actively. According to a study conducted by the International Monetary Fund, it was during the pandemic that the number of users of digital payment instruments increased by 21% compared with last year,” Osmanov emphasized.
