April 30, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from 3 May the Vaxzevria vaccine (manufactured by AstraZeneca) will be injected to people aged 60 years and older in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that this is said in the joint statement of the Ministry of Health, the State Agency for Mandatory Medical Insurance and the Association for the Management of Medical Territorial Divisions.

Vaxzevria vaccine will be used in Baku and 6 districts of Azerbaijan - Lankaran, Sheki, Ganja, Mingachevir, Absheron and Sumgait. Special facilities will be allotted in medical institutions for injection of this vaccine.

84,000 doses of Vaxzevria vaccine were delivered to Azerbaijan as part of the COVAX initiative. This vaccine is approved by the World Health Organization.
