May 6, Fineko/abc.az. Bankrupt UK company Debenhams, a 242-year-old chain of clothing and home textiles stores, closes all its stores on 15 May.

ABC.AZ reports that 53 stores will be closed on 8 May and 49 more ones on 15 May.

The chain, which in the 1950s owned the largest and most famous retail stores in the UK, could not adapt to the conditions of the day and the desires of consumers for a certain period of time.

The company's debt was about 420 million pounds in 2020. As a result of the closure of Debenhams stores, 12,000 people will lose their jobs.
