State Service warns entrepreneurs: a certificate is required

May 31, Fineko/abc.az. Observations and analysis carried out by the State Service for Antimonopoly Supervision & Control of the Consumer Market under the Ministry of Economy in large retail chains, markets, shops, markets and other retail facilities, as well as appeals received from consumers, show that in some cases, some non-food consumer goods are imported into the country without a certificate of compliance that guarantees their safety.

ABC.AZ was informed at the State Service that according to the requirements of the legislation, it is prohibited to sell and use consumer goods of foreign origin, which are subject to the technical regulations, in the absence of a certificate confirming compliance with the requirements of the standards.

To import such goods into the territory of the country, the importer must provide a certificate of conformity confirming the safety of goods. The State Service informs entrepreneurs who accept such goods for the purpose of their import and sale that such cases are contrary to the life and health of consumers, their economic interests. According to the Code of Administrative Offences, officials who sell goods that do not have a certificate of conformity are fined from 1,500 to 2,000 manats, and legal entities from 4,000 to 6,000 manats.
