Oil rises in price, and Brent is at $71.76 a barrel

June 3, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of standard grades continued growing on Thursday amid the increasing optimism about the oil demand prospects as the global economy recovers from the crisis.

By 9:01 am, at the London ICE Futures Exchange the August’s Brent crude futures rose by $0.41 (0.57%) up to $71.76 per barrel. At the end of trading on 2 June the Brent futures for August grew in price by $1.10 (1.57%) up to $71.35 per barrel.

By 9:01 am, at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) the price of the July’s WTI oil futures increased by $0.38 (0.55%) up to $69.21 per barrel. At the end of trading on 2 June the price of WTI futures for July grew by $1.11 (1.64%) up to $68.83 per barrel.
