July 7, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on additional measures aimed at improving irrigation of cultivated districts in the Shamkir and Tovuz districts and meet the needs of the population for drinking water.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the document, in order to design and drill 20 sub-artesian wells to improve irrigation of cultivated areas and household land plots used for sowing in 17 settlements of the Shamkir and Tovuz districts with the population of 105,153 residents, as well as to meet population’s drinking water needs, AZN 1.4 million were allocated from State Budget 2021 to Azerbaijan Melioration & Water Management Company.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance has been instructed to provide financing in the amount specified in this decree, and the Cabinet Ministers has been instructed to resolve issues arising from the order.
