July 22, Fineko/abc.az. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has approved the allocation of a $100 million loan to Azerbaijan to assist in the implementation of an all-round plan to mitigate the adverse medical, social and economic consequences of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection.

ABC.AZ reports that although the loan was approved on 15 July, information about it was published this week on the bank's website.

"The purpose of the program is to support the measures of the Azerbaijani government on financial incentives aimed at mitigating the negative impact of COVID-19 on the health, income and economic opportunities of the population, as well as on macroeconomic stability," the bank's materials say.
