Georgia to introduce innovations at state border

August 2, Fineko/abc.az. Smart cameras with face recognition function will be installed at all border points of Georgia.

ABC.AZ reports that the innovation was announced by Internal Affairs Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri.

Presenting the 10-year plan of activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the minister said that all cities and highways will be covered by about 13,000 general viewing devices and smart cameras.

According to Gomelauri, an important place in the plan is given to the reform of the border police and increasing the capacity of checkpoints: "All border checkpoints will be upgraded and equipped with modern technical means of control. Along with this, all the helicopters of the border police will be repaired and modernized. It is planned to purchase two new helicopters."
