August 4, Fineko/abc.az. The number of payments made during the first 6 months of 2021 through the instant payment system (SMP), which was put into operation in October 2020, amounted to 37,000 operations for AZN 97 million.

According to the Central Bank, work is successfully underway on expansion of the functionality of mobile application AniPay. So, this year, the possibility of non-cash payment with a QR code appeared on the SMP platform.

The advantages of this payment method are that payments can be made directly through bank accounts and the cost of purchased goods through mobile devices without using a payment card.

It is noted that for making everyday payments in a secure form without physical contact, especially under the conditions of pandemic, it is considered more effective to use the payment method with a QR code.
