Agriculture Ministry’s rep: Amount to be paid to farmers to be increased per ton

September 7, Fineko/abc.az. There have been significant changes in the decision on provision of seed subsidies for farmers in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that this was stated by Vugar Huseynov, the head of the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.

He noted that earlier subsidies were given for cotton, sugar beet and tobacco for both sowing and harvest.

"And now only subsidy for the harvest will be given. But the amount of this subsidy has been increased per ton. The subsidy for the cotton crop has been increased from 100 to 170 manats, for tobacco from 5 to 26 manats, for sugar beet from 4 to 12 manats," Huseynov said.
