First meeting in ‘3+2’ format to take place in Moscow today

December 10, Fineko/abc.az. The first meeting of the regional platform in the “3+2” format with the participation of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Armenia and Russia will be held in Moscow today.

ABC.AZ reports that the meeting will be attended by the deputy foreign ministers of five countries.

Azerbaijan will be represented at the meeting by Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov of Azerbaijan, Deputy Foreign Minister Sadat Onal of Turkey, and Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko of Russia.

Negotiations were proposed to be held in the “3 +3" format, but Georgia refused to participate in the Moscow meeting.

The idea of creating a platform for cooperation between the six countries, which includes Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Turkey and Iran, was put forward by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
