Data on imports for 2021 published

December 10, Fineko/abc.az. In the first 9 months of 2021 Azerbaijan’s imports of goods grew by 0.9% up to $7.5 bn, including the total value of imports of consumer goods reached $3.6 bn ($1.2 bn accounted for foods).

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank that country’s imports on the non-oil sector increased by 3.2% up to $6.2 bn.

In the structure of non-oil imports the country observed growth on imports of ships, boats and floating structures (1.9-fold), pharmaceutical products (1.5-fold), perfumes and cosmetics (44%), passenger cars (40%), rail transport (39.4%), sugar (36.6%), furniture products (25.6%), alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (21%), stone and glass products (20%), wood products (16.3%), tobacco and tobacco products (12%), vegetables (10.4%), paper products (7%) and palm oil (4.5%).

Decline was recorded on the imports of aircrafts (11.4-fold), cereals (13.5%), metals (11.4%), soap and detergents (8%) and oil (6.7%). The share of machinery, equipment and goods imported by Azerbaijan at the expense of foreign investments made up 8.4% in the import structure - $600 million.
