Georgia reports a sharp rise of prices for foods

December 21, Fineko/abc.az. The severe economic consequences of the pandemic are manifested in the fact that the annual inflation rate in Georgia this year has reached its highest in the last 10 years.

ABC.AZ reports that according to the National Statistical Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in November of this year country’s inflation grew by 0.6% compared with the previous month, and the annual inflation rate made up 12.5%.

A sharp rise of inflation made it difficult to buy most goods from the minimum consumer basket.

So, in November bread in Georgia rose in price by 22%, eggs by 41.6%, sunflower oil by 40.7%, sugar by 34.7%, and potatoes by 33.7%.
